…we cordially invite you to join us at the East Anglian Railway Museum for this, our Annual Steampunk fair hosted in conjunction with the League of Essextraordinary Gentlemen.

Meet the stall holders, browse their wares and disappear into the world of Steampunk!
This is a family friendly event with fun for all the family.
We will be holding a special Steampunk Market, with a range of stalls in our new Exhibition Hall and outside on the events field. If you are a stall holder please see towards the bottom of this page for details on how to get involved.
More details will be posted here nearer the date, but you can be sure of a grand time at this spectacular and popular event – don’t miss out!
Enjoy unlimited train rides, plus access to the museum and exhibits.
Children can let off some steam in our train themed playground and pretend to be a bus driver on our play and picnic bus.
During our Steampunk Shenanigans event, the Museum is open for you to look around the various buildings, trains, displays and exhibits – details of what you can see can be found on our Standard Museum Admission page, with the added attraction of one of our heritage trains running.
We operate unlimited rides from 11:00 – 15:00, the Museum opens at 10:00 right through until 17:00

Steampunk Authors Attending
PAUL ECCENTRIC
Paul is a published songwriter, poet, playwright and novelist and is probably best known as being one half of the comedic beat poetry combo, The Antipoet. He has played hundreds of festivals including Glastonbury, The Edinburgh Fringe, Camp Bestival etc.
After over 40 years of writing and performing, and having several books published, Paul is now thoroughly enjoying writing in his favourite genre, that of Steampunk. His series, ‘The Periwinkle Perspective’ is published by Caffeine Nights Books and looks forward to performing some extracts at this year’s Steampunk Shenanigans.
Paul lives in Aston Clinton, Bucks, with his wife, Donna, from where they run three telephone box libraries and a farm school library, whilst looking after cats; a goat; various chickens and Samantha, the very naughty Herman tortoise and yes, it is his real name.

MARTIN NOUTCH
Martin Barnabus Noutch is an author and educator based in London. He is the creator of theSteam Highwayman gamebook series and specialises in using interactive fiction in the primary classroom.
Steam Highwayman is a series of open-world, solo-roleplaying, steampunk gamebooks. Who is the Steam Highwayman? YOU are the Steam Highwayman! Yours is the adventure – yours is the midnight road!
Steam Highwayman is a series of interlinked gamebooks, each volume covering a different region of an alternate 19th century England or Wales. You can choose when to travel from region to region, simply by following the references within the books, tracking your adventure on the Adventure Sheet included in each volume.

TG TROUPER
TG Trouper, A life long Essex resident, decided to pursue his ambitions to become a professional writer, after he took early retirement from his successful career in the live music industry. Maintaining and operating sound equipment for some of the biggest names in the business. His first novel, Astrid :War Changes People, the first book in his Astrid series of female led war stories, was initially self published in 2019, before being taken up by a publisher in 2021.
Since then, he has written works in several different genres and his books have been presented at events in London, Frankfurt and at the Sarjah international Book fair. After recently encountering the world of Victorian retro futurism that is steampunk, Trouper embarked on his first volume in this genre.
A Machine to End All Wars, is Troupers first foray into Steampunk. Set in 1900, it is the tale of a young inventor from a village in Essex who tries to bring his new creation to the attention of the British government. But things are seldom as they seem. Circumstances conspire to fabricate a world of espionage, treachery, illicit love and mechanical retribution. Trouper is a member of the Society of Authors and several local writers groups.
He operates his own YouTube channel, where he interviews and champions independent authors. And he still continues to work within the music industry on a part time basis.

Spectacular Steampunk Market
Traders – come along and take part in our Steampunk Market, from the everyday to the unusual, as well as speciality food and snacks, everyone is welcome, but be quick as we only have a limited number of pitches available.
Inside Pitches – within our Exhibition Hall, please bring along your own tables. The frontage will allow two tables in right angle ‘L’ shape formation 1.8m frontage x 2m depth. – £25
We do have a limited number of tables available for hire – £5 each. These are limited and on a first come, first reserved basis.

Event Timetable
Our trains run all day long with no fixed timetable from 11:00 to 15.00, and you can have as many rides as you like, whenever you like.
On Site Catering and Ice Creams
Feeling Hungry?
You can visit Platform Two Cafe, which is run by our external suppliers, Stour Valley Catering – they’re open from 10am – 4pm and serve tasty breakfast, lunch & snack options, as well as coffee, tea & a range of cold beverages.
Platform Two will also have their takeaway outlet open for this event selling food like chips and bacon rolls.
Our friends from Molly Moo’s Ice Creams will be here selling a range of ice creams, lollies and drinks to keep you cool.

The Museum is a registered Charity run by Volunteers, Gift Aid is a simple way for UK Tax Payers to allow the Museum to claim an additional 25% of the ticket price from HMRC.
Please note, prebooking closes at midnight before the event, tickets are then available on the door at the prices shown above.
