We hold regular event days throughout the year, see What’s On for details.
Unlimited rides on a train hauled by one of our vintage Steam Locomotives, with Vintage Bus Rides to Bures and back.
Come and get up close and personal to a nice display of buses, trucks, military vehicles, fire engines, police cars and ambulances. Learn about the history of the fire service thanks to a pop up museum and get your photo taken with police items, thanks to Essex Police Museum. There will also be free bus rides to Bures and back on some of the buses in the display, a round trip of about 25 minutes. We will have one of our steam and diesel trains in operation, as well as our miniature railway offering unlimited rides all day long. The Braintree & Halstead Model Railway Club will have their club rooms open with an impressive display of model railways. Let your little ones let off some steam on our train themed playground and let them pretend to be a bus driver on our play and picnic bus.
Platform Two Café (run by Stour Valley Catering) shall be open selling hot and cold drinks and snacks and our very own micro pub, The Viaduct, will be open selling a range of beers, ciders, wines and soft drinks.
Molly Moos Ice Cream will also be in attendance.

As a thank you to our emergency and armed forces personnel, we are offering a 10% on the door admission discount. Simply show your physical blue light or armed forces ID card to our reception when you arrive. This is an on the door discount and cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer. You will be asked to show photo ID if your blue light card does not have a photo. Discount is only valid per person and not per group.

Do you own a lorry, van, bus, police car, fire engine, ambulance, tractor, or any public service, commercial and emergency vehicle? If yes then we want to hear from you. It is FREE to enter and exhibitors and occupants of the vehicle benefit from FREE admission and all the activities mentioned above. We also welcome vehicle clubs. Space it limited and exhibitor bookings are on a first come first served basis. To enter your vehicle or group, simply follow the event booking instructions. Entry terms and conditions apply. If you have any questions or are unsure if your vehicle qualifies, then please get in touch.
PLEASE NOTE THAT BOOKING IS PER VEHICLE, NOT PER PERSON.
Event Timetable
Our trains run all day long with no fixed timetable from 10:30 to 15.00, and you can have as many rides as you like, whenever you like.

Feeling Hungry?
You can visit Platform Two Cafe, which is run by our external suppliers, Stour Valley Catering – they’re open from 10am – 4pm (please note that food is not served by Platform Two Cafe after 2pm during the winter months) and serve tasty breakfast, lunch & snack options, as well as coffee, tea & a range of cold beverages.

Please note, prebooking closes at midnight before the event, tickets are then available on the door at the prices shown above.
