DRIVER EXPERIENCE SESSION
The cost of the Driving course is £150 per person which includes:
- Two complimentary museum entry guest tickets; valid for the day of the experience
A certificate and group photograph (via email) of your day’s experience
- 50% discount off one year’s adult membership to the museum
- Complimentary refreshments for you and your guests
Please note that cancellations or changes are subject to an £25 admin fee per driver.
If you are unable to attend on your booked date but would like to join us on a different date, this requires at least 4 weeks notice.
Should you need to cancel completely more than 4 weeks prior to the course date, the administration charge will be 25% of the course fee.
If you need to cancel your booking less than 4 weeks prior to the course date, we are unable to refund any of the course fee.
No Refunds will be given if the participant is unable to meet the requirements detailed in the Driver Experience Safety Sheet)

Driver Experience sessions are two hours in duration, running from 9.00 am – 11.00 am ahead of our steam operating days. They run on specific dates throughout the year and fill up quickly as places are limited and in demand so it is recommended you book early to avoid disappointment.
Suitable for anyone aged 18+, must be fit enough to climb up and down the steps from and agile enough to get onto the footplate and down the engine steps in an emergency, see Driver Experience Safety Sheet here
Please Note the Operating Superintendent reserves the right to cancel anyone on the day that doesnt meet the requirements of the safety sheet.
Two friends or family members are welcome to come along for free, any additional guests will be required to pay the normal museum admission charge, which includes access to the whole museum.
