Railway Research
In addition to the items on display, the Museum holds an extensive collection of archive and library material relating to the history of the railways and people whose lives and work were connected with it in East Anglia. Although these resources are not available to visitors, they are available to researchers.
Access to the collection is by prior arrangement with the Collections Manager. Where research visits are requested outside of the Museum’s public opening hours, a charge will apply to help cover of the costs associated with providing access: £30 for the first hour and £25 for each subsequent hour.
The Museum is operated and managed entirely by volunteers, including the Collections Manager. Research visits and access to the collections are therefore arranged subject to volunteer availability, and we appreciate your understanding and flexibility when making enquiries.
