Ladies and gentlemen…

…we cordially invite you to join us at the East Anglian Railway Museum for this, our Annual Steampunk fair hosted in conjunction with the League of Essexordinary Gentlemen.

Meet the stall holders, browse their wares and disappear into the world of Steampunk!

This is a family friendly event with fun for all the family.

We will be holding a special Steampunk Market, with a range of stalls in our new Exhibition Hall and outside on the events field. If you are a stall holder please see towards the bottom of this page for details on how to get involved.

More details will be posted here nearer the date, but you can be sure of a grand time at this spectacular and popular event – don’t miss out!

Enjoy unlimited train rides, plus access to the museum and exhibits.

Children can let off some steam in our train themed playground and pretend to be a bus driver on our play and picnic bus.

During our Steampunk Shenanigans event, the Museum is open for you to look around the various buildings, trains, displays and exhibits – details of what you can see can be found on our Standard Museum Admission page, with the added attraction of one of our heritage trains running.

We operate unlimited rides from 11:00 – 15:00, the Museum opens at 10:00 right through until 17:00

Check out New Exhibition Hall, our working Restoration Shed, and see how the volunteers are getting on with the restoration of Lamport, the magnificent Victorian Goods Shed, period Waiting Rooms & Signal Box as well as the Thompson Centre & Train themed Children’s Playground, our site of over 10 acres is ideal if you would like to bring your own picnic.

Spectacular Steampunk Market

Traders – come along and take part in our Steampunk Market, from the everyday to the unusual, as well as speciality food and snacks, everyone is welcome, but be quick as we only have a limited number of pitches available.

Outside Pitches – 3m x 3m, please bring along your own marquee, tables and equipment you need – £15
Inside Pitches – within our Exhibition Hall, please bring along your own tables. The frontage will allow two tables in right angle ‘L’ shape formation 1.8m frontage x 2m depth. – £25

We do have a limited number of tables available for hire – £5 each. These are limited and on a first come, first reserved basis.

Event Timetable

Our trains run all day long with no fixed timetable from 11:00 to 15.00, and you can have as many rides as you like, whenever you like.

On Site Catering and Ice Creams

Feeling Hungry? 

You can visit  Platform Two Cafe, which is run by our external suppliers, Stour Valley Catering – they’re open from 10am – 4pm  and serve tasty breakfast, lunch & snack options, as well as coffee, tea & a range of cold beverages.

Platform Two will also have their takeaway outlet open for this event selling food like chips and bacon rolls.

Our friends from Molly Moo’s Ice Creams will be here selling a range of ice creams, lollies and drinks to keep you cool.

Children: (4-15) £9.50
Under 4s: Free 

The Museum is a registered Charity run by Volunteers, Gift Aid is a simple way for UK Tax Payers to allow the Museum to claim an additional 25% of the ticket price from HMRC.

Please note, prebooking closes at midnight before the event, tickets are then available on the door at the prices shown above.
